YOUR RECORDING STUDIO SESSION
Here is the process for the session.
To start, we will discuss your goals for the recording before the session. Our FREE set up time offer requires that we have information about the session.
Secondly, if you use pre-recorded tracks, they will be loaded onto the recorder ahead of the scheduled time.
This pre-production saves you time and money.
When you arrive, you will set up in a designated area for your instrument.
Then, the microphones will be placed for your instruments or amplifiers and vocals.
Next, the headphone mixes will be generally set according to what you want to hear.
Plan your recording time. A general rule-of-thumb would be 2/3 hour to record/overdub and 1/3 hour to mix. Remember, final mixes take longer than rough mixes.
The WAVS-Studio staff can give you a good idea of what you will need time-wise for your recording studio session.
PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE RECORDING SESSION
Tips on getting ready for your session.
You should change guitar strings a couple days before the session.
If needed, change drum heads and tune them ahead of time before showing up for the session. And listen for any rattles and noises when playing the kit and get rid of them.
Musicians should be well rehearsed and have definite arrangements worked out. Don’t waste time figuring out what to play while the clock is running.
Practice recording on your phone so you will be more comfortable with the process in the studio.
Get a good nights sleep before the session and drink fluids.
Keep in mind, RECORDING IS FUN! Go into the session with that thought and it will be!

WAVS-Studio is a throwback to the early days of recording, and was built by Cary Wakeley to record live as a band and capture the excitement of the moment.
WAVS-Studio has an analog pathway to the hard disk recorder for warm and smooth sound recordings. When adding ambiance or special effects, high quality digital effects maintain a professional sound .

OUR STAFF
Cary Wakeley
Cary has worked on a wide variety of musical projects. Starting as a musician/songwriter, Cary has owned or worked managing four studios doing music recordings.
LP Vinyl record, cassette, and CD releases for Rock, Pop and Country music bands, jazz groups and orchestras. Cary has recorded ethnic cultural groups, and even a 95 piece marching band in studio!
He has done broadcast production for local and national radio and TV programs, commercials, and comedy programs.
Cary can help you realize your ideal dream recording project!
Cary is an accomplished live sound engineer too. He works with many local and regional bands. Cary is an Intermittent Sound/Video Engineer at The Seattle Center (Seattle WA).
Cary is an AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) and is a Level 3 Certification as a Dante® programmer.
